After being in college for 3 year and to be honest slacking off I've decided what to study. Looking through catalogs all day and thinking about what I love to do I realized I was stupid for not think about Photography! So I am offically intending my major as Art. Should be interesting in the drawing classes but once I get to the photography classes of the major I should be ok. Now I'm kind of excited!

On infodog they have a breeders directory and since our WABR is listed under my moms none of the dogs will show up under my breeders directory. So... I coded my directory and used links to each page. http://www.infodog.com/brag/breepage/b132605.htm I also changed the font and added a picture, its so fun to stand out!!

I've also created SEVERAL new infodog images for my dogs and clients:

Kelin's Fearful Symmetry (Blake)
(Yes tradewindsbeagl I've decided to hold on to him a little longer, look at that side gait!)
Hows BOB over 3 specials for a 3pt major?! The breed judge loved him! The group judge gave him a good look but she seemed to be lost. Then on Sunday that same judge didn't even give poor Fonzie the time of day... The dog she put up is a decent dog but was pacing so bad that the judge had to make him go down and back 5 times, and on the last go around she was screaming at him to do this and that... It was weird.

Actually the whole show was weird. A not so great Saluki who wasn't showing took BIS. The groups were being cleaned out with bad dogs. Jimmy Moses was down here and lost the Herding group on Sunday.... Even though I did so good with Fonz & mom took a G3 on the first day I remember why we never go to these shows, its too hot and so fixed.

OK so been awile...

To start off Maverick went back to his breeder. I've had so many good friends who have been breeding for a LONG time tell me if I want to breed he is not something I should keep... I know he is 6 months but has been doing this since I got him at 8 wks, the usual raising his dish and loading him on Vitamin C and Calcium hasn't worked all this time. His movement is just not something I would keep.

So my breeder has replaced him with a 14 month old male she has and was planning on keeping. She wants to co-own him. His name is Silvercreek Chesabar Happy Days and is out of some nice dogs. He won Best Puppy at the Candian National Specialty (I'm assuming that is Best in Sweeps?) at 8 months. He is a sweet heart and thinks he is a cat... but he is a big boy and knocks me over when he tries to rub on me! He a big impressive boy, has a wonderful temperment, coat, bone and one GORGEOUS gait. Mainly his side gait he is just gorgeous. I have him entered this weekend and next so lets see how he does. This is one boy that is ready to win BOB from class but I know how some judges are with putting up class dogs.

Here is the infodog image I created for him.

You can see more images of him on my site http://www.cbr.kelinkennels.com

A little late but I had a litter of Wirehaired Pointing Griffons on January 5th, 2006, 8 boys & 1 girl. This is actually an oopsy litter (Mother/Son breeding) but I have a feeling the pups are going to be nice. I’m not really planning on keeping any but you know how that goes… three of the boys are look amazing at this point =/

You can see info on mom and dad at http://www.wpg.kelinkennels.com/

Dad - Ch. I was thinking some names having to do with affair, surprise, secret, being naughty etc… I need all boy names using the prefix “Kelin.”

So far I have:

The girls name is probably – Kelin’s An Affair to Remember

Kelin’s Black Tie Affair – “Tie”

Kelin’s Hurricane Surprise

Kelin’s Secret Rendezvous

Kelin’s All in the Family – “Archie”

So far for pick male I’m thinking Kelin’s Black Tie Affair. What do you all think and what other names do you all have?

Leaving Wednesday for the Atlanta and Perry shows. I have a Red/White basset bitch (Layover Lola), Rico and a Silky (Vivian) class bitch. Hoping to come home with some good points and for Perry some good Group experience for Lola since there is only 1 other dog. Lola is SOOO pretty, I have never seen a basset move like her she could probably be up with the Harrier in the groups, LOL. Too bad she has 3 things against her in the hound group =( She's red/white, shes a bitch and the biggest she is a BASSET!!
Gonna have fun with Rico... In Atlanta he is only class anything then there is a gorgeous specials (the male I want to breed Ms Nalu too). So for him it is expensive practice =). Then Perry there is one other class dog so I'm hoping Rico comes home with some singles and some group experience.
I don't even have to say anything about Vivian... She should win hands down LOL. It may sound stuckup but I havent seen ANYTHING in FL or GA that could beat her coat, topline and head! Her only set back is that she is too laid back for me, wish she was a wild woman! Majors for her all 7 shows, WOOT!

Anyways I talk to much...

Well wish us luck!

Not a hound like picture =(

Rico has learned to be gentle with Clover and I can now trust them in the same X-pen.
Well lots of work ahead of me this week... We have our Local clubs show and my mom is President, Show Chair, and Hospitality chair... Not to mention I'm Trophy chair so basically between my mom and me we run the show! I don't mind doing all this; it gets my face out there infront of all the judges. <g> Although I can't be around them too much as I'm also showing that weekend = (

Anyways next week I get to baby-sit 6 Frenchies... I've had them before so they are a great bunch of dogs and are no problem. It'll help with a little extra cash; actually it'll probably pay for a long over due new monitor.

The next weekend I entered Nalu again for June 21-22, she better get her last point! She has been showing so good I really hate the judges I have had lately; she should have won hands down... This same weekend there is a Match! I usually hate match unless I have something to show off <g>. Last match was Rico and he showed amazing so he doesn't need anymore practice and is done with matches, but guess who is over 3 months?! CLOVER!!!! I will attempt to show her, hehe. The fun part will be stacking on the floor but I have a feeling that if I keep her busy with a cookie in her mouth she won’t notice I stacked her. I'll be slowly working with her these next few weeks before then so let see what happens.

I can't wait till next weekend (June 4 & 5), I get to take my Hairy (wireharied pointing griffon) that I co-own and handle for someone back into the ring as a special. He has really matured and grew some coat! My goal is just to rank him for Eukanuba this year. Last Eukanuba I took him in and he was pulled first in the breed ring but the judge asked me his age... I said 20 months and from there on in the judge ignored him and didn't even give him an AOM. This boy is amazing and was by far the best dog in there. You can see him here at 19 months old http://www.infodog.com/my/dogpage.htm?akc=SR%2008832103. I need to get a new picture of him as he has matured more and has more under coat now. The only thing I can fault him in is he is a little down in the pasterns but compared to ALL the other griff he is not that bad.

Anyways besides Hairy I have my favorite basset girl to show!!! Chablis is going to kick butt in the suported entry. That is if the judge doesn't mind BIG bitches! She a pretty girl though with a beautiful topline. I don't have Nalu to show since my mom is President and Show Chair of the club and she is listed as one of Nalu's owners. I'll probably be busy between the Griffs, bassets, being Trophy Chair of the club and helping run the meet the breeds booth. Going to be a busy weekend and I'll have a lot to report I'm sure!

Ok where do I begin... Satuday began with Chessie at 8:30 first thing in the ring and of course I got up for no reason as none of the other chessies showed up... So Nalu still needs that one damn point. Anyways Tabatha (swiss) took the breed beating all their damn special! My moms new chow MacDuff (Duncans son) was limping so took reserve winners dog to the other chow we had as a filler. That's ok he was limping and I know it was because we did his nails so close to the show date. We did nothing in the groups. Saturday night I entered Rico in the match. He was AMAZING!!! He took a group 1 over a good 30 pups. I can't believe it because I really havent worked with him and he was staying so good. The whole night I would stack him then I stand back to free bait and he STAYED until I told him it was ok to move. He was a perfect statue for examination and moved like a pro. BIS match went to a paddling Shar-Pei but I knew the judge (a toy dog person) wouldn't understand a chessie. They probably see the single tracking or the slight rise in the rear and think it's no good. Everyone there did come up to me and tell me he deserved it! All in all a good experience for Rico and he never not once for the 3 hours he was in there get tired of showing or playing. I'm just amazed at him!

Anyways on to Sunday. Tabatha lost the breed again to those horrible dogs, we were told later that the judge likes bitchy bitches so that would explain it. MacDuff took the breed for only 1 point. I didnt bother to show Nalu because again no one showed up. In the groups MacDuff took a Group 4, from the bred-by class basically! Then went on to take Group 1 Bred-by. As nice as that was we had the motorhome all packed up and ready to go, Non-Sporting was the 2nd group! So we had to wait till best and it never fails you always have to win on Sunday!! He didnt do anything in Best, I think that judge liked Black Cockers as he put one for BIS Bred-By and BIS...

All in all in a pretty good weekend.

Off to another dog show! This time a 2 day show in Ft. Myers, FL. I'm just showing Nalu, there is 1 pt each day which is perfect. Wish her luck!! I'm also going to mess with Rico in the match this weekend. He has been doing so good with training and he is just sooo gorgeous, I just want to show him off. Can't wait till he's 6 months and he puts these damn FL chessie people with their pets in their place. I know that sounds mean... but some of the breeders here in FL used to be good and ethical breeders but now all they have is CRAP and are breeding it. It's like they have just given up. Does anyone else see this in thier breeds where they are at?

tradewindsbeagl I'm about to put Rico up on Infodog Winners and Brag rights. I was thinking of putting Clover too but not sure if I should put her in 13" until she is over or just go ahead and put her straight in 15". I might just wait on her... To complicated! Oh and I've never told you Nalu’s full name but I bet you’d like it! Polynesian for chocolate wave! Lets hope by Monday it's Ch. Silvercreek's Kokoleka Nalu!!!! *knocks on wood*

I'm so excited! I get Clover tomorrow morning! I feel like just going to sleep right now so that tomorrow morning comes quicker. She’s my first beagle since Snoopy (my wonderful JRs dog). I think she is going to be sooo spoiled because I have missed having a beagle. I just love her name too, Tradewind's Kiss my Shamrock. Made a web page for "her" basically because I have no other beagles at the moment! http://www.beagle.kelinkennels.com

Thank you tradewindsbeagl for trusting me with Clover!

Well the show for me this weekend ... SUCKED! Nalu lost on Saturday to 2 handlers of course when she clearly was the best... I had so many come up to me and say OMG the first dog was a PET and the second was a BLIMP (and I mean 20 #'s over weight!) Including the handler of the blimp... The upside, my sister Swissy took WB/OS for a 3pt major and her 2nd major! My mom made a clean sweep in chow, what’s new?! Nothing with the bassets, the puppy bitch I showed took 3 of 3. He really didn't seem to like Red and whites.

Sunday: Nalu goes in of course she is again by FAR the best thing in there. Took 2nd, then RWD to the BLIMP... At least she beat the pet. The blimp then went on in breed to flip out and almost take off the judge’s hand! She still gives it BOW/OS. I over heard the handler of her saying that the judge told him he was going to get breed until then, over 3 specials... That judge is on my DONT SHOW list along with Dorothy Nickles and David Kittredge... Anyways my sisters Swissie took WB/BOW/OS and almost took the breed. She now has a CH. in front of her name! Just wait till next weekend when she is bumped up... I got a feeling she is going to be nearly undefeated in the FL specials ring as it should have been in the classes... This bitch is AMAZING! All the Swissies here look like tri-colour coonhounds that couldn't even draft their own weight. With long ass necks that would snap in .2 secs when pulling 40+#'s. Tabitha looks like she could pull 1,000# and not even break a sweat. Not to mention she has a topline to DIE for, she is the only one there keeping it when she moves too. Anyways my mom again took WD/WB/BOB/BOW/BOS! The basset FINISHED!!!! FINALLY! and the other basset girl I show took 3rd, 8 month old bitch in open (shame on her owner!) not to mention you try keeping an 8m bassets rear up the first weekend you've shown her.

Next weekend there is 1 other bitch in chessies so Nalu has a better chance of breaking this 1pt curse. Tabitha's debut as a specials and McDuff's debut (maybe a group placement outta the classes?!). Let’s see how it goes.

Heidi sorry not good with the LJ stuff and couldn’t remember how to put a link to anther journal! Anyways I’m excited about Clover, when you get back from your show send me an email to work things out. I don’t know what’s with my email lately or if you get the last one I sent… Hope you kicked butt this weekend!

Off to a another dog show this weekend. Have a 3pt major in Chessies, if Nalu wins she is finished! Wasn't able to get the RV fixed in time so were going to have a fun time traveling back and forth both days. Hope we get that fixed by next weekend, that is defiantly to long of a drive!

My mom entered in the Kalamazoo, MI shows again so that will be a nice trip. From the tip of FL to the MI, I hope she doesn't think I'm going to stay awake! There is a chessie specialty but I didn't enter Nalu and Rico is too young. I just get to go and watch the chessies in MI, I'll have to drop by the Beagle ring to see what they got there too. My mom also has a specialty for her chows. She has a GORGEOUS class dog entered that looks even better now then her last special (Duncan, who was #2 in the country for 2 year or so in a row) ever did! This boy is actually Duncans son and he has the BEST name ever, Kelin's Nothing But a Kilt! You can see him at his first show here http://www.chow.kelinkennels.com/mcduff.htm (last pic is him and Duncan). He was 6 months there now he is bigger then daddy. I think he has a good chance at the breed... Anyways just hoping he follows in Daddy's footsteps.

To all of you going to shows this weekend, GOOD LUCK! Bring home some great wins!

JOY! The RV just broke down so we have to travel back and forth to the shows this weekend... It's only an hour and a half away but, argh! I'm so used to taking the RV, setting up and releaxing inbetween Friday and Saturday night. Oh well hoping we get it fixed before next weekends show that is 2 and a half hours away!
We will probably end up selling the Motorhome and buying a Van with a generator and a trailer. That way when we go on long trips we don't have to worry about the RV breaking down! The only thing I'll miss is being able to stop and go to sleep at a rest area without having to step into the parking lot...

Well just got back from the dog show this weekend. Nalu didn't get any points since the breakdown was 1-1(1-0). She took BOW over the other class dog and I think that should count!!!! Oh well in 2 weekends there is a 3 pt major so lets see how that goes. Then Saturday night I entered my 12 week pup Rico in the match. He took a group 3... Out of 3! LOL I only got him a week ago and he hadn't been on a lead, so he didnt know how to walk. He free baited nicely but anything for food! There is another match with Nalu's next show so we will be there too!

Hope everyones weekend went well!!

Ok I've discovered Nalu's new show word. It is no longer "cookie" but "pool." Today I slowly said lets go to the pool and this what Nalu does: Lets go (just a blank stare), to the (yet another blank stare), POOL (right when I said that her ears went up and she barked!) Nalu is weird! I better go let her in pool before I ruin that word for her.
